I´m really enjoying the cover scans of the different editions of your books …thanks .
But out of interest why do different editions of the same title have different cover images , does it have anything to do with different publishers in different countries or what is the reason ?
I can’t really answer that. I’m not consulted about the foreign covers – every so often one of these things arrives in the post and I’m always intrigued to see what the different designers have made of it. Some of them (Anagrama, Feltrinelli, Gallimard) have their own house style, others (like the Portuguese or sometimes the Dutch) tend to follow the lead of the UK or US editions. My favourite of all is the Bulgarian House of Sleep, which I think is a beautiful and powerful image bordering on genius. Kudos to the designer there.
