I was searching for information on a Major Bond who painted a picture I have in my bedroom of Abersoch Harbour in 1946. It was a wedding present for my mother, my grandmother had a hotel in Abersoch – the St Tudwals – until about 1967.
When my father was courting my mother in 1961, on his first visit to Abersoch he parked his Citroen Light 15 outside the St Tuds to be told by the proprietor – George Hogg, his future father-in-law:
"You’ll have to move it round the back, only Bentleys and Rolls’ are allowed in front."
During my periodic search I stumbled upon this site and mention of BS Johnson, I’ll now have to hunt for a copy of Travelling People.
